Long story short, you need to delete the registry entries that located inside the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SQMClient\Windows\DisabledSessions
Hopefully, this will prevent you from uninstalling and reinstalling in desperation to get things working!
